the anniversary of our correspondence

I think we can write off my friend as advisor. I think he is suffering from amnesia. Well, Hedwig will meet him in October, if I can arrange it. He still hasn’t replied to my email that she is coming. I can’t understand it. The three of us were class mates after all and in each letter he asks after her. Anyway, Hedwig is also not very involved with my writing. She is, as stated, anti all fiction, however that is not the complete reason. I assume that, understandably, she is hesitant to read my stuff, in case, like she (probably correctly) has to expect, the morals don’t quite match her own. And because of that I am actually quite happy that the rest of the family also ignores me. When it is possible, we are all very tolerant!
I think less about the fact that our correspondence has been going on for a whole year than the miracle that it happened at all! And I don’t have a clue what led me to “break down your door” with my letter. It was something to do with your style of writing, that spontaneously led me to contact you. Maybe it was also a small tick of fate.
I thought you would enjoy the CD of the Aborigines. Apart from the overall composition, the individual characters come across as authentic, unaffected and loveable. If you find it difficult to understand the one thing or the other, let me know. I have spent a lot of time in this area. And there are a huge number of books available here on that topic. But you see, in the last 50 years they have become modern people, different to Maria in the beginning of the Emu story. But they are still facing the difficultiy of staying true to their own culture. And it would be a crying shame if more of it was lost. And the tendency to leave everything in the area of fable is in my view also dangerouse. It should not be possible to make a 40 thousand year tradition irrelevant. A terrible problem.
So you are helping Anne. I am happy, honestly. Don’t worry about our emails. That will sort itself out.
Kind Greetings. Peter
