1954 - Gilda Quintett

The email message below arrived on Friday 8th of July - the day Dad passed away. I have included it here mainly for the photo. Translated text is as follows:

Dear Hedwig and Peter,
I found out from Renate that you called and at the same time found out that Peter is not doing so well. I passed this on to Manfred von Lennep with whom I meet every 4 weeks. We spoke again from the old times and the begining of our musical endeavours. In an old photo album we found a photo of teh Gilda Quintett. It originated from the 1954 Carneval in Speck and Wehl. Manfred felt we should send the photo as a greeting from old times. It is attached.
We wish you in Australia all the best and especially a speedy recovery for Peter.

Liebe Hedwig, lieber Peter,
von Renate erfuhr ich, dass Ihr wiedermal telefoniert habt,und hörte gleichzeitig, dass es Peter nicht so gut geht. Hiervon erzählte ich Manfred von Lennep, den ich etwa alle 4 Wochen mal treffe. Wir haben noch mal von den alten Zeiten und den Anfängen unserer Musik gesprochen. In einem alten Foto-Album fanden wir ein gemeinsames Foto des "Gilda-Quintetts".Es stammt von Karneval 1954 in Speck und Wehl. Manfred meint, wir sollten das Bild doch mal rüberschicken als Gruss aus alten Zeiten. Es liegt als Anhang dieser eMail bei.
Wir wünschen Euch in Australien alles Gute und vor allen Dingen gute Besserung für Peter.
