1961 - Sydney Opera House ?
This is the photo that Mum was shown in a german paper in 1961 that led Dad to think he could get a job at the Sydney Opera House after our arrival in Australia. Little did we know that the Opera House was a hole in the ground at that stage and that the picture was a cleverly modified photo showing the Sydney skyline but a model of the Opera House! You can imagine Dad’s surprise on arrival in Sydney to find that all that had happened so far was that the foundations had been excavated.
