Getting Philosophical
Statistically speaking, religious people of course live longer. That is if they have not been brainwashed into too much fear and panic over Belzebub. If you live with trust in God, you have no problems or stress. You still suffer but you recover much more quickly. If you are catholic, you can even get rid of your guilt, in the confessional. If that is not a well adjusted life!! The reason for your enquiry was probably my original question re if you are religious. I only asked so that in my correspondence I don’t step on toes. People can get very offended and hurt. But seeing there is no problem, let’s philosophise about God. I have spent quite a bit of time on this topic. Catholic childhood, nazi schooling, very catholic youth, then distance from all, at 50 started being interested again, via Carl Jung stumbled onto the ancient Chinese culture, thoroughly studied the I Ching with successful use of the Oracle. This led to an awareness of Taoism, Chian Tsu, then studied the bible for 2 years, with Dennis and his friend (a highschool teacher of Mathematics at a Jewish private school) and afterwards let it all sink in for 10 years. I do not subscribe to any particular school of thought. For me, Jesus is the most important man who ever lived. But I am interested in Man as a Philosopher. When I pray, I pray to my inner self, or maybe better expressed, via my inner self. I was very long of the opinion that the subconscious lets itself be steered by the conscious, contrary to Carl Jung. I even proved it to myself but did not pursue it much further.
There we have it…a beginning. If that’s not enough food for thought then I don’t know what is!
